In today’s overloaded content landscape, it is becoming increasingly difficult for artists to stand out from one another. While they are encouraged to be original and authentic, it can be difficult to develop a consistent and powerful story. This course covers the importance of narrative-driven branding, as well as how to create and maintain a strong artist identity and image.
You will learn what storytelling is as well as why it is crucial in order to develop an artist’s career and fandom. We will then guide you through the differences between artist identity and artist image, and explain how the two are necessary to build a strong brand. You will also gain practical advice on how to translate storytelling into marketing assets and the key team members who can help make them. In addition, you will learn about the risks of inconsistent branding and how it can negatively impact an artist’s career. Finally, we will illustrate our previous teachings through an in-depth case study of the artist Ashnikko, and explain how her storytelling is found through her identity, image and fandom.
